Belle River Lions Club Projects

 

  • Bingos - 2 to 3 per month
  • Support of the Food Bank with an annual "Fill the Bus" event through the club's Lakeshore Leo Club, contribution of books to assist the Food Bank clients as well as a monthly financial contribution and turkeys for Christmas and hams for Easter.  During this time of the "virus" and in the next few months, the club is also collecting empty beer and liquor bottles.  All the proceeds from these collections will go towards paving the parking lot for more handicap accessibility.  If in the Belle River area, contact Lion Debbie at (519) 728-0340 or drop them off at 532 St. Charles Street.  If in the Tilbury area, contact Lion Joyce at (519) 682-9422 or drop them off at 4800 Richardson Sideroad.
  • Sponsor a Leo club - children age 12 to 18
  • Opening Day of Baseball - hotdogs and hamburgers for the children playing baseball and their family and friends
  • Stroll the Street Events - serve hotdogs, pop, water and chips - May, June & September
  • Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide Walk sponsored by Pet Valu - usually the last Sunday in May
  • SunSplash - July 12th - Friday night - Car Show - selling hot dogs, pop and water; July 13th - Saturday - Lawn Tractor Races - selling hot dogs, pop and water
  • Hallowe'en Party/Contest for children ages 0 - 10 years.  This has been going on for over 72 years.
  • Diabetes Day
  • Remembrance Day Parade
  • Christmas Cake & Shortbread Sales
  • Pasta Fundraiser events - 1 in March and 1 in November
  • Sponsor Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Brownies
  • Sponsor St. Anne's Highschool Robotics Team
  • Loan medical equipment by request
