For 61 years, the Arab Lions Club has been providing assistance to individuals in the Arab and Brindlee Mountain communities in dealing with sight related problems. These services include eye exams, eye glasses, medical treatment and surgery when required, and transportation to and from medical centers. While prevention and treatment of sight related disorders is the primary mission of both the local club and Lions worldwide, the Arab Lions Club also participates in a variety of other service activities with the goal of helping those less fortunate and trying to make our community a better place to live. These services have taken the form of scholarships awarded to deserving students, being the chartering sponsor for Arab Cub Scouts Pack 60  pack60arabalabama.org, providing Christmas for needy children, delivering fruit baskets to a number of "special" people in the community at Christmas to let them know they are remembered, and providing assistance on an individual basis as needs arise.
