Background

The Andover Lions Club was chartered in November 1954 and has continued its community support activities ever since.  The club generates fund raising events to allow us to provide community support and projects.  
All income generated by these fund raising events are directed back to the communities.


Fund Raising Events

Fourth of July:
   Annual Pancake Breakfast
   Food service on the Andover Green

July-December:  Calendar Raffle

Weekend before Labor Day:
   Food service at Musterfield Farms Days

Saturday before Labor Day:
   Food service at Danbury Grange Fair

September:
   Golf Tournament at Country Club of NH

December:
   Annual Middle School Invitational Basketball Tournament at Proctor Academy

March:  Annual Rose Sale

As Requested:
   Large Tent Rentals
   Display of the Andover Lions Club Concord Coach


Community Support and Charities

The Andover Lions Club supports community and charitable projects in Andover, Danbury, Salisbury, and Wilmot.  The following is a partial list of assistance that we provide:

  • Local children's sports programs
  • Andover local Scout Troop 649
  • Camp Allen for disabled individuals
  • Camp Pride for those with special needs
  • College Scholarships for local students
  • Community Center reading programs
  • Eye exams and free glasses for the needy
  • Eyeglasses recycling and reuse
  • Gift certificates for the holiday seasons for needy
  • Health, vision and hearing screening for all ages
  • Large print Readers Digest subscriptions for senior citizen homes
  • Camp Mayhew for disadvantaged boys
  • New Hampshire Brain Injured donations
  • School Peace Poster and Patriotic Essay Contests
  • Road clean-up on Route 4 between Andover and Danbury

 

The Andover Lions Club also conducts vision and hearing screenings for the local elementary schools once each academic year.  We also provide a pre-school vision screening for local day-care centers under the Operation Kidsight program.  These screenings are at no charge to the community. 

Since the Andover Lions Club was first chartered in 1954, the various projects benefiting the local communities has been cited as an invaluable service. Some of the more recent projects are:
