CHICKEN Q ON JULY 18, '20

This year we will be serving as drive-through in front of Pooters on Main St.  from 11:30 till gone.   $10 per meal: 1/2 grilled chicken, potato salad, beans, roll, milk, and ice cream.  And all profit goes to help people locally.

Soles 4 Souls

Old, clean shoes, in any condition, are being collected by the Altura Lions Club, to be sent to developing countries to protect people from infections due to abrasions on bare feet.  Many are directly donated; however, repairable shoes are sent to qualified microenterprise programs to create jobs in poor communities.  Some use just the soles and duct tape or any other fastener to protect their feet.  Clean shoes may be donated in any style, any condition.  Please rubber-bank or tie the shoe laces together.  Look for the Lions box near the entrance marked Soles4souls.  We will be collecting shoes from September thru October.

2018 Youth Sports Chicken-Q,  July 21

Look at the page on the website for club projects to see some pictures that were taken that day.

We thank all of the people who attended this year's Youth Sports Chicken-Q, which went really well. Thank you to the Altura Youth Sports Committee for asking Altura Lions to put on the annual Chicken-Q this year, which gave parents the time to watch their children play softball, and gave us the opportunity to raise money for projects to benefit the community.

Also thanks to Cory Potter and Dan Horvat for grilling the chicken, Altura Hardware for their donation of the charcoal, Jeremy Kreidemacher for donating individual milk cartons, Thrivent contributed start-up funds for this chicken Q, and Mike Burns for letting us use the refrigerated trailer. Your generous contributions helped make the Chicken-Q a success.
