Greetings

and a warm welcome from the men and women of the Alfred Lions Club!

WHO ARE THE LIONS?

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 200 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.

The Alfred Lions Club was formed in 1964 and chartered in 1966. The Alfred Lions have been a moving force in fostering the Lions mission to promote vision and other programs that support the local community and many Lions-related regional and national initiatives. We share a common belief - We can help serve our community for the better. We serve because we care.

We hope that you find our webpage interesting, and that you will consider joining the Alfred Lions Club. If so, and you would like more information, click here or the Contact Us page button which lists the names and contact information of the Membership Chair and Club Officers. Additionally, click through the other pages for more information.

First, a brief orientation to the web page. Note the list of button links on each page. These enable you to easily move to and from pages in any sequence. The majority of the pages are very ‘pictorial’ providing both visual and descriptive information about the diversity of club activities. To limit the amount of physical scrolling, the successive pictures and images automatically scroll allowing enough time to view and read the information.

In her presentation to the International Convention in 1925, Helen Keller asked the Lions to become the Knights of Vision. Her presentation can be read by clicking here. While vision remains a primary concern, Lionism encompasses many other concerns as well. For more information about Lionism, please click here to visit the Lions Club International website.

Enjoy your 'walk' through the Alfred Lions Club Webpage.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
