Fund Raising

The word from the Catering Committee is that they are already signing up more customers for our catering service.

The Stampede Breakfasts that we cook and serve are very successful and contribute considerably to our fund raising bank accounts.  The Committee thanks all of the members and their family and friends who pitch in for the events that range from 100 guests to more than 500 breakfast attendees.

Festival of Lights

2022 will be the he 36th year that Lion Otto Silzer will lead the efforts to update and erect the Christmas light display known as the Lions Festival of Lights.  Many man-hours are donated by members of our Club, members of other Lions Clubs and friends and local volunteers.

Early in November a host of volunteers gather at Confederation Park to set up the Festival of Lights displays.  Then, on the last week of ,November, with the public invited to attend for free, as well  as local dignitaries, the switch that energizes the many thousands of lights and is thrown at 6:00 PM and kicks off the opening fireworks display..  As is tradition, hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies are provided free to all who attended.

The lights will be lit every evening from 6:30 to 11:00 PM during the month of December until the end of the  first week of January .
